4.         MOTION TO RECONSIDER RESOLUTION #8(a)/07/27/09

 

            (a)

WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays meeting of July 21st, 2009 adopted Resolution #8(a)/07/27/09 which stated that the Township will cease operations of the Camp Beachcombers Day Camp effective at the end of Friday, July 24th, 2009;

 

AND WHEREAS Mayor and Council have received requests from interested parties for a further review of the matter and an opportunity to speak on behalf of the decision;

 

AND WHEREAS pursuant to the Township of Lake of Bays Council Procedural By-law 08-81 the matter cannot be open for debate unless a motion to reconsider is passed;

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council wishes to reconsider Resolution #8(a)/07/27/09.

 

 

                     Note:  The Procedural By-law requires that this motion to reconsider be moved by a member on the prevailing side of the original motion.  Because it was passed unanimously, any member may move for reconsideration.  The motion must be seconded.  The Procedural By-law also provides that a motion may only be considered once in a period of twelve months.

 

If the motion to reconsider is defeated then Resolution #8(a)/07/21/09 is not open for debate.  A motion to adjourn will be in order as no further business may be conducted at the special meeting.

 

If the motion to reconsider is passed by a majority vote of members present then Resolution #8(a)/07/21/09 is on the floor for debate by Council.  It is at this time that Council may hear delegations from the public.  At the conclusion of debate, including hearing any delegations Council will vote on the Resolution.
