7. COMMITTEE RESOLUTIONS FOR CONSIDERATION
(a) Finance and Corporate Services Committee
i) BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Finance and Corporate Services Committee receives and recommends to the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays the “2008 Consolidated Financial Statement; 2008 Financial Statements of Library Board and 2008 Financial Statements of Trust Funds” prepared by the Township auditor, KPMG Chartered Accountants.
ii) BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Finance and Corporate Services Committee receives and recommends to the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays the “Consolidated Statement of Financial Activities, year ended December 31st, 2008.”
iii) BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Finance and Corporate Services Committee recommends to the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays the amended changes to Building Service user fees.
By-law #10-11, being a by-law to amend By-law 08-148, to establish fees and charges on persons for payment of municipal services, activities and use of municipal property. (Schedule D – Building Department)
iv) BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Finance and Corporate Services Committee recommends to the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays that the position of Community Coordinator be discussed in the 2010 budget.

(c) Parks Recreation and Trails Committee
i) BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Parks, Recreation and Trails Advisory Committee recommends that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays support the request from the Dorset Park Committee for a request for quotation to be issued by the Township of Lake of Bays and Township of Algonquin Highlands for engineered drawings for the construction of a new surface for the Dorset Rink.
(d) Community Emergency Management Committee
i) BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Community Emergency Management Committee recommends to the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays the approval of Appendix “V” – Public Awareness and Education plan (4pgs/173KB), as amended, of the Township of Lake of Bays Emergency Response Plan for submission to the Emergency Measures Ontario Community Officer for his approval.
ii) BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Community Emergency Management Committee recommends to the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays the approval of Appendix “I” – Critical Infrastructure of the Township of Lake of Bays Emergency Response Plan for submission to the Emergency Measures Ontario Community Officer for his approval. iii) BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Community Emergency Management Committee recommends to the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays the 2010 review of the Township of Lake of Bays Community Emergency Management Program (3pgs/86KB) for submission to the Emergency Measures Ontario Community Officer for his approval.
iv) BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Community Emergency Management Committee recommends to the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays the approval of Appendix “L” – Hazard Identification Risk Assessment for 2010 of the Township of Lake of Bays Emergency Response Plan for submission to the Emergency Measures Ontario Community Officer for his approval. Muskoka Watershed Council
· Will be producing the Watershed Report Card in 2010
District Municipality of Muskoka
· 2009 Lake System Health Monitoring Program Report is available on website at www.muskoka.com .
· Employment opportunity available for the position of Economic Development Officer for Muskoka.
Huntsville/Lake of Bays Strategic Marketing Committee
· Has tentative events planned for each month and are looking for ideas for April.
(b) Councillor Burgess
Councillor Burgess reported on the following:
Attended
§ Councillor Boivin’s January 20th District Advisory Committee meeting along with several members of my Sinclair Advisory Committee.
§ Lake of Bays Association’s Winter Board meeting on January 16th in Baysville.
§ Will be attending AMO seminar and workshop “Council Challenges 2010” in Orillia on Friday, January 22nd.

(d) Councillor Casey
Councillor Casey reported on the following:
2010 Ontario Winter Games (March 4th to 7th)
· Accommodation throughout Muskoka is filling up fast.
· Spectators and athletes’ families are still looking for accommodations.
· Resorts and lodges can register as a sponsor/advertiser for a nominal rate and be included on the official website.
· Volunteer assignment has begun and training will be conducted throughout February.
· All volunteers must attend one training session.
Muskoka Heritage Foundation
· Received a grant for a broad based stewardship program and is seeking volunteers to become Master Stewards.
Huntsville/Lake of Bays Chamber of Commerce
· AGM is scheduled for February 16th, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. at Hidden Valley Ski Club.
· New by-laws will be voted on that will reduce the number of board of directors from a maximum of 20 to 10.
· All directors elected will be expected to be fully engaged as there will no longer be committees.
Baysville Community Group G8 Project
· Confirmation letters to successful and unsuccessful bidders have been sent, with the exception of the quotations being approved on January 26th.
· All projects are proceeding and will be completed by mid May and invoiced to the township by mid March.
YWCA Muskoka
§ Power of Being a Girl Conference will be held at Spruce Glen School in Huntsville on January 30th, 2010.
§ Is a full day event for girls aged 9 to 14.

Tax Clinics
· Upon request, the District Municipality of Muskoka Community Services will be holding tax clinics in Dorset, Dwight and Baysville to assist those who need help completing their income tax returns.
· Clinics will be run by qualified volunteers and will be held in the library of each community.
· Watch for further details.
Senior Skating at Baysville Arena
· Held every Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
· New skaters are always welcome!
