The Township of Lake of Bays is located in the northeast corner of Ontario's "Cottage Country", adjacent to world renowned Algonquin Park.  Lake of Bays, being a part of Muskoka has traditionally been one of Ontario's premier destinations for family vacations and summer cottages. 

The Township of Lake of Bays has a permanent population of 3,500 and seasonal population of 18,000 and encompasses approximately 66,000 hectares (163,083 acres) of land, containing approximately 108 lakes, including Lake of Bays - the 4th largest lake in Muskoka with nearly 170 km of shoreline.  The Township encompasses four unique and inviting communities of Baysville, Dorset, Dwight and Hillside.  Lake of Bays is situated just east of Huntsville and is 2 hours north of Toronto, 1 hour south of North Bay, and 3.5 hours west of Ottawa.
