Benefits of Recreation:
Any activity that takes
your mind, body and soul out
of a required work mode, and
allows you to feel a sense
of satisfaction, peace and
pleasure can be a
recreational experience.
While encouraging activity
that is socially beneficial,
economically sound and
fosters a sense of
community, the Parks and
Recreation Department works
diligently to improve your
recreational experience how
you see fit.
Working under the guidance
of the
Parks Recreation and Trails
Advisory Committee
the design of this website
will allow you to access
many vantage points, natural
assets, programs, and
services that are available
in all three hamlets of the
Township of Lake of Bays,
and within the defined
boundaries, policies and
bylaws set out for your
safety and the preservation
of our assets, we encourage
you to create your own
version of a recreational
experience, to be enjoyed by
yourself, or whomever you
choose. For further
information please review
our
Parks Master Plan
(110pgs/795KB).
Perhaps it is a nature walk
along our beautiful Oxtongue
Rapids, or a quiet afternoon
painting the scenery at
Solitaire Lake we encourage
our residents to explore,
enrich and enjoy your
experience.
By clicking on many of our
access points, identified on
our maps in the web site,
you will learn about assets,
you may not know about, or
perhaps have not visited in
years, decades. Check out
Paint Lake Walking Trail
Grassmere Park, or take your
dog for a nature walk along
Blue Lake.
Even now, as you sit at
your computer, mouse in
hand, you are experiencing
recreation. Your mind may be
wandering ahead to the
experience you may enjoy, or
what you will bring on your
trip. Your half way there,
and we cannot encourage you
enough to begin your journey
on our web site to find what
you are looking for.
Welcome to the Lake of
Bays, and welcome to your
recreational experience. May
your mind think freely as
you plan your next
adventure.
