Community Spotlight: Irwin Memorial Public School

Posted on Thursday October 22, 2020

Serving Lake of Bays and the surrounding area from its beautiful, natural site in the village of Dwight, Irwin Memorial Public School has been a staple of the community since 1956.

Over the years, Irwin Memorial has fostered a safe, caring, inclusive, and collaborative environment and has refined its instructional programming to include a rich balance of academics, athletics, arts, technological opportunities, and outdoor learning.

Faced with the challenges of COVID-19, Irwin’s staff of full time and substitute teachers, administrators, custodians, educational assistants, bus drivers, and volunteer community members have been given the difficult tasks of preparing and providing a safe space for kids to learn and interact with their peers at school while instilling confidence in parents that their kids are in good hands as they go back to work.

We are fortunate to have such dedicated educators, support staff, and volunteer community members that change lives and positively impact students every single day. Our community thanks you for the valuable work you are doing.
