The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Advisory Committee members advise and direct the Fire Chief on matters relating to policy issues in the operation of the fire department including emergency services, fire protection, and public education.

Key activities

  • Emergency Response (firefighting, water and ice rescue, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials and public assistance)
  • Fire Protection/Public Education (burning permits, smoke alarms, review of new construction drawings and inspections)
  • Fire Administration (health and safety issues, recruitment, and public relations)
  • Fire Investigation (cause/origin and liaise with provincial agencies)

The Fire Advisory Committee typically meets the second Tuesday of every other month at 7:00 p.m.
