Linda Boothby

Linda Boothby (nee Clark) grew up in Dorset and knew from a young age that Lake of Bays was where she wanted to build her life.

Linda began her career as a Tax Collector for the Township of Algonquin Highlands, spending ten years working in municipal government. That experience gave her a strong understanding of municipal taxation, zoning bylaws, council procedures and the role council plays in shaping a community’s future.

Lake of Bays is home. Linda raised her children here, built her business here and is now watching her grandson grow up here. She values the history, character and small-town identity that makes this community special.

Community involvement has always been important to Linda. Over the years, she has volunteered with numerous local committees, organizations, churches, schools and community initiatives.

Twenty-five years ago, Linda founded Lake of Bays Garden Centre. Five years ago, she took over the Dwight Farmers’ Market, helping grow it to approximately 65 local vendors and entrepreneurs.

Linda is running for Franklin Ward Councillor because she believes her experience in municipal government, business and community service will bring a practical, informed voice to council. She is committed to listening, working together and protecting what makes Lake of Bays special for future generations.

Born in Huntsville, I have deep roots here and have called Dwight home for five years. I am running for Franklin Ward Councillor to help shape a sustainable, responsive future for our community.

Through 26 years of delivering building products for Rolston and Rona, I have listened to your concerns firsthand. I understand the challenges you face and am ready to be your dedicated, approachable voice at the council table.

My priorities for the Township include:

Protecting Our Lakes, Beaches & Docks: Safeguarding our waterfronts, maintaining beaches, and ensuring local docks are managed for everyone to enjoy.
Infrastructure & Stewardship: Advocating for responsible development and care of the Logging Chain parcel.
Accessible Government: Improving communication to ensure transparency.
Process Efficiency: Streamlining operations and improving relationships with residents.
With 20 years in manufacturing, including training teams across North America, I bring a safety-first mindset and a sharp eye for efficiency. I value clear communication and am ready to work for you. Let’s build a better Lake of Bays together.
