Rick Brooks

Community Service is not new to me:

Over the past 40 years, my commitment has been acknowledged by receiving the Ontario Volunteer Service Award & Queen’s Diamond Jubilee as well as the appreciation & recognition from organizations like Doors Open, Heritage Port Hope, Oshawa Food Drive, School Community Councils, Lung Association, ALS, Epilepsy Durham, The Salvation Army and Kiwanis International among others.

My pledge to you remains unwavering:

  • making sure you know who I am and that I am approachable
  • Establishing a healthy dialogue with our residents and particularly the lake associations & local advisory committees
  • Continuing an active voice for all residents
  • Continuing to encourage a balanced approach to development between the need to grow our communities and the concerns of the environment and the adverse effects of climate change
  • Continuing to fight for the needs of our firefighters, ensuring they have the tools needed to protect themselves, our residents and our communities
  • Working in concert with our CAO and staff along with our fellow Councilors on issues pertaining directly to YOU our residents
