Project Porchlight

Lake of Bays Fire Rescue’s Project Porchlight is an annual holiday food drive that brings firefighters and volunteers into the community to collect non-perishable food donations for local food banks. Residents along designated routes can turn on their porchlight and leave a donation ready for pickup, while donations can also be dropped off at participating fire stations.

Project Porchlight 2026

Event Details

We are inviting the community to help fill local food bank shelves this holiday season through the annual Project Porchlight Food Drive on Wednesday, December 2, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Lake of Bays Fire Rescue trucks and volunteers will travel designated roads throughout the Township to collect donations in support of the Lake of Bays Winter Pantry, with overflow donations supporting The Table Soup Kitchen. Residents along the collection routes who wish to participate are encouraged to turn on their porchlight and have their non-perishable food donations ready for collection on the porch or at the end of their driveway.

Donation Drop-off Locations

Not on a collection route or prefer to drop off your donation? Visit Lake of Bays Fire Rescue Stations 20, 30 or 40 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on December 2. Donations will also be accepted for the Salvation Army at Fire Station 1 in Huntsville and Fire Station 5 in Port Sydney.
