Alzheimer's Awareness Month Flag Raising Ceremony

(LAKE OF BAYS, ON) The Township of Lake of Bays will be recognizing Alzheimer's Awareness Month with a flag-raising ceremony on January 9th at 10:00 a.m. in an effort to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease and support those affected by it.

Alzheimer's disease is a progressive brain disorder affecting over 500,000 Canadians. Locally, the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka has over 800 registered caregiver clients and persons living with dementia according to the organization's 2021-2022 Report.

Lake of Bays Township hopes to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease with the flag-raising ceremony that will be open to the public and take place at the Municipal Office in Dwight (1012 Dwight Beach Rd.)
