Media Release: Community Invited to Continue Shaping the Future of Logging Chain Park

(Lake of Bays, ON) The Township of Lake of Bays is inviting community members to continue helping shape the future of Logging Chain Park through a new online ideas board.

Earlier this year, more than 280 community members shared their thoughts on the future of the property through a survey. That feedback helped identify what matters most to the community and generated a wide range of ideas for the future parkland.

The new ideas board is the next step. It gives people a chance to review the survey findings, show support for ideas they like, comment on them, and add ideas of their own. The goal is to narrow down and refine which park features, uses, and opportunities the community would like to see explored further.

The ideas board will remain open until November 8, 2026.

The former Logging Chain Lodge property was purchased by the Township in 2025 to protect an important community space. No park concept or final design has been selected. Planning for the property is expected to take place over several years and includes continuing opportunities for public input. A procurement process is currently underway to retain a design consultant who will use community feedback to develop parkland options for the property.

Community members are encouraged to visit the project page to review the survey findings, take part in the activity, and stay informed as the project moves forward.
