Thinking of Running for Council in 2026? Attend the April 30 Candidate Workshop

Residents interested in learning more about serving on Council are invited to attend a regional Candidate Information Session on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the District of Muskoka Council Chambers in Bracebridge.

This free, in‑person workshop is designed for anyone considering a run in the 2026 municipal election. Light appetizers and refreshments will be provided, and no advance registration is required.

The session will walk prospective candidates through how municipal government works, what serving on Council really involves, and the realities of campaigning and public life. Presenters include representatives from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and Clerks on Call.

Nominations open May 1, 2026, and close August 21, 2026. Election Day is October 26, 2026.
