Media Release: New Round of Environmental Grants Now Open in Lake of Bays

(Lake of Bays, ON) – Have an idea to protect the environment in Lake of Bays? Funding is available through the Township’s Environmental Projects Grant Program to support grassroots initiatives that protect, enhance, or restore the environment in Lake of Bays.

This intake runs until December 31, 2025, and includes support for projects that improve watershed health and water quality, along with small to medium-sized efforts that conserve, restore, or enhance habitat and biodiversity.

Grants range from $500 to $5,000 and are open to individuals, community groups, and organizations in Lake of Bays.

“The most meaningful environmental change often starts small,” said David Zilkey, Climate Action Strategist, Shared Services for the Township of Lake of Bays and the Town of Huntsville. “You don’t need to be an expert. Just bring your idea. Let’s talk about how we can support you in making a positive difference in Lake of Bays.

Thinking about a project? Reach out early. A pre-consultation with the program administrator can help shape your idea, confirm eligibility, and walk you through the next steps.
