Monday, August 11, 2025 (Muskoka, ON) – The District of Muskoka and the Township of Lake of Bays are partnering on the first-ever Muskoka Main Streets project, starting in Baysville. This initiative was created to strengthen the places where residents live, work, and connect, because main streets are more than just roads. They’re community gateways, economic corridors, and shared spaces.

(Huntsville/Lake of Bays) – Due to the quickly accelerating dry conditions, as of August 7, 2025, the Muskoka Fire Chiefs have issued a total fire ban. The fire danger rating is now set to extreme for Huntsville and Lake of Bays. Under a total fire ban all outdoor burning is prohibited, including charcoal barbeques and fireworks.
