(Lake of Bays, ON) The Township of Lake of Bays has released a revised draft of the proposed Clean Yards By-law and is inviting residents to review the updated version and share their comments ahead of the April 14, 2026, Council meeting.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) - Bracebridge Minden Parry Sound District has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement that will be in effect until Monday, March 18, 2024.

Two planned power outages will take place in the Township on Sunday, March 1, 2026, and Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

Limits are put in place each spring to protect our roads while the frost is coming out of the ground. From the late winter thaw to about the end of May, the Highway Traffic Act requires reduced weights on municipal roads.

Spring is on the way, and construction season will begin soon on the Muskoka Main Streets project along Muskoka Road 117 in Baysville. As work gets ready to resume, the District is hosting another community drop in event to reconnect with residents and share what to expect this spring.

The proposed by-laws will come before the Township of Lake of Bays Council for consideration at its regular meeting to be held in a hybrid setting (in-person and electronically), on the 10th day of March, 2026, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. o’clock, in the morning.

Update: The investigation into yesterday morning’s incident involving a municipal plow truck and a school bus in the Baysville area has concluded. All students were safe, there were no injuries, and the investigation is now closed.
