Tax Rates & Calculations

In the Township of Lake of Bays, your property taxes are based on the property assessment value of the home, cottage or vacant land you own. This value is set by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC). The Province of Ontario, the District of Muskoka and the Township of Lake of Bays all receive a portion of your tax dollars to support the services they are responsible for providing.

The Province of Ontario's share is remitted to the local school boards you support. You can change your school support designation through MPAC. Learn more on our School Board Support Designation page.
