The Ministry of Natural Resources has lifted the Restricted Fire Zone for our area. The Muskoka Association of Fire Chiefs will be removing the fire ban for the District of Muskoka. The Fire rating is now set at MODERATE.
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Lake of Bays region. A multi-day heat event is currently underway, and temperatures ranging from 29 to 33 degrees Celsius (with a humidex of 37 to 42) are expected to persist until Thursday, July 6, 2023.
