Potential Postal Strike May Impact Certain Township Services
Following the recent ice storm that impacted much of the region, cleanup efforts in the Township of Lake of Bays are continuing. Township facilities remain open. Residents are urged to continue using caution as cleanup efforts progress.
The District of Muskoka has declared a State of Emergency following a severe ice storm from March 28–30, 2025, which caused extensive power outages, fallen trees, downed hydro lines, and dangerous road conditions.
The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) – Bracebridge-Minden-Parry Sound District is advising area residents that a Flood Watch bulletin is in effect for all watersheds in the District until Wednesday, April 02, 2025. Residents should expect water levels to increase: the potential for flooding exists.
Proposed by-laws will come before the Township of Lake of Bays Council for consideration at its regular meeting to be held in a hybrid setting (in-person and electronically), on the 8th day of April, 2025, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. o’clock, in the morning.
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays proposes to enact by-laws pursuant to Sections 9 and 35 of the Municipal Act, 2001 to: Title Rectification for lands in relation to Glenmount Road.
At its meeting on March 11, 2025, the Township of Lake of Bays Council approved updates to Policy AD-2.10 – Road Allowance Closure Procedures (containing a private road/driveway).
