Closures and Service Disruptions

The Lake of Bays Community Centre, Arena and Library remains closed out of an abundance of caution following issues identified during recent work related to upgrades to the building’s heating and cooling systems.

Township crews are advising of water on the roadway at the following locations: Fairy Falls Road near 1077 and Fairy Falls Road near 1176

Motorists are asked to use caution when travelling in these areas and avoid driving through pooled or flowing water where possible.

Please Note: Contractors for the arena’s geothermal ice plant will be on-site for the next two weeks, beginning March 26, 2026.

This activity will temporarily affect parking and access around the facility. As the contractor sets up equipment and establishes a safe work zone, some routes may shift. Please follow on‑site signage and directions.

The Township of Lake of Bays will close Front Office reception at the Dwight Municipal Office at 1012 Dwight Beach Road on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm so staff can take part in training. Building and Planning reception will remain open and can take messages during this time.

Two planned power outages will take place in the Township on Sunday, March 1, 2026, and Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

Please note that due to inclement weather, the Municipal Office in Dwight will close at 3:00 p.m. today, Thursday, January 22. We will reopen and be ready to assist you tomorrow, Friday, January 23, at 8:30 a.m.
