The Township of Lake of Bays invites residents, business owners, and interested community members to attend, speak, or submit written comments at a public meeting on proposed amendments to off-street parking. 

Oxtongue Rapids Road has been reopened. The section of road between Lions Pavilion and the Monument was recently closed due to washout.

The Muskoka Fire Danger Rating has been lowered to MODERATE. Small fires are permitted in most areas of Muskoka keeping in mind that NO DAYTIME BURNING is allowed. Fire must be under constant supervision and control from time of lighting until it is totally extinguished

The Township of Lake of Bays By-law Department kindly reminds everyone to celebrate safely this long weekend and act in accordance with local regulations.

Please be advised that the potential Canada Post strike may impact services provided by the Township due to delayed mail delivery.  

The proposed by-laws will come before the Township of Lake of Bays Council for consideration at its regular meeting to be held in a hybrid setting in-person and electronically), on the 3rd day of June, 2025, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. o’clock, in the morning.

The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department is reminding residents to use extreme caution with all outdoor flames and to take proactive steps around their properties as the wildfire risk in our area continues to grow.

The Township of Lake of Bays will begin seasonal roadside brushing this week. This important work helps improve safety and maintain road infrastructure. Work will start on sections of Dwight Beach Road, Paint Lake Road, and Nithgrove Road.

(Lake of Bays, ON) – At its meeting on May 13, 2025, Township of Lake of Bays Council approved the formation of the Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) Task Force. This group will help shape the Township’s MAT program, supporting and growing local tourism.

The Muskoka Fire Danger Rating has been elevated to HIGH due to increasingly dry conditions and several recent wildland fires in the region. With warm weather and low humidity, the risk of wildfire is serious.
