The Lake of Bays Community Centre in Baysville has welcomed some charming new forest friends. A stunning new sculpture by woodcarver Jake Rhodes has been unveiled at the facility. This piece, which took over 80 hours to complete and weighs approximately 250 pounds, adds a unique local touch to the centre.

The Township of Lake of Bays is pleased to announce the return of the Annual Compost Giveaway, taking place on Earth Day, April 22, 2025, starting at 10:00 a.m.. Free, high-quality compost will be available for residents to pick up.

The Muskoka Community Foundation is pleased to announce that applications to the Lake of Bays Community Education Bursary are now being accepted. This bursary is a newly established stream within the Lake of Bays Community Fund.

The Township of Lake of Bays is inviting accommodation operators to join the Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) Task Force, an advisory group that will play a key role in shaping the Township’s MAT program.

Update on the District of Muskoka's Temporary Fee Relief for Brush and Chippable Wood as well as Storm Recovery Hotline

The meeting is being held to consider Township-wide Amendments to the parking provisions in the Community Planning Permit By-law 2021-111. 

Following the recent ice storm that impacted much of the region, cleanup efforts in the Township of Lake of Bays are continuing. Township facilities remain open. Residents are urged to continue using caution as cleanup efforts progress. 

The District of Muskoka has declared a State of Emergency following a severe ice storm from March 28–30, 2025, which caused extensive power outages, fallen trees, downed hydro lines, and dangerous road conditions.
