(Lake of Bays, ON) Lake of Bays Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire on Spring Lake Road in Dwight on May 19, 2026.

Weighed garbage services will be unavailable at Sinclair Transfer Station, located at 1931 Limberlost Road, as of May 25 until work is complete. During this period, weighed garbage will not be accepted at this location and must be directed to an alternate transfer station.

The proposed by-laws will come before the Township of Lake of Bays Council for consideration at its regular meeting to be held in a hybrid setting (in-person and electronically), on the 2nd day of June, 2026, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. o’clock, in the morning. 

(Lake of Bays, ON) The Township of Lake of Bays is pleased to share some positive news regarding the Community Centre, Arena and Library facility in Baysville. As of today, the Library portion of the facility has reopened, allowing library services and programs to resume.

A public water tap is now available at the Baysville Fire Station at 12 University Street, across from the Lake of Bays Community Centre during the closure.

(Lake of Bays, ON) Township staff and engineers continue to assess the Lake of Bays Community Centre, Arena and Library in Baysville after a ground issue was identified following recent work related to the building’s heating and cooling systems.

Under Noise Control By-law 2021-029, an application under Section 13 has been received by Township staff. The applicant is looking for an exemption from Schedule B, Item 8 under Section 10, which would allow for Discharge of Fireworks between the hours of 8:30pm and 10:30 p.m.
