Community Centre, Arena and Library Closure in Baysville
The Lake of Bays Community Centre, Arena and Library remains closed out of an abundance of caution following issues identified during recent work related to upgrades to the building’s heating and cooling systems.

(Lake of Bays, ON) - At the November 11 Council Meeting, staff presented the Draft 2026 Budget and Business Plan (BBP).
(Lake of Bays, ON) - In a recent case, the Township of Lake of Bays secured fines against a homeowner and a contractor who began construction without the required permits. The homeowner pleaded guilty to violating both the Ontario Building Code Act and the Planning Act, resulting in a $10,000 fine. The contractor pleaded guilty to one Planning Act offence and received a $4,000 fine.
(Lake of Bays, ON) – During the Council Meeting on November 11, 2025, staff will present the Draft 2026 Budget and Business Plan for Council’s consideration. The draft, now available for public review, balances the need to maintain current service levels while addressing new and growing demands across the community.
The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department is seeking passionate and engaged members of the community to join the service as volunteer firefighters.
The proposed by-laws will come before the Township of Lake of Bays Council for consideration at its regular meeting to be held in a hybrid setting (in-person and electronically), on the 11th day of November, 2025, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. o’clock, in the morning.
