Committees
Purpose of committees
Committees provide advice and recommendations to Council. Most committees include members of the public, and members of Council.
A number of committees and/or boards are mandatory under provincial legislation while others are created at Council's discretion.

- Reflect local views
- Recognize various “publics”
- Use varied means of communication
- Liaise with the media
- Provide less formal venue for the public
